Here we report on the progress of the leading builders in the Bitcoin ZKonomy, documenting recent significant releases, technical breakthroughs and general updates

Starknet

@Starknet has introduced “Asset Runes,” a new way for Bitcoin users to access non-BTC assets like USDC without leaving the Bitcoin network. Minted directly on @Bitcoin and backed 1:1 by reserves on Starknet, these tokens can be redeemed anytime. Powered by a Bitcoin-Starknet bridge and zkRollup tech, Asset Runes aim to make Bitcoin interoperable with @ethereum-based assets and broader crypto ecosystems: https://starknet.io/blog/dont-stop-hodling-introducing-asset-runes/…

In addition, the project introduces Broly, a proof of concept enabling Bitcoin inscriptions directly from Starknet wallets without needing BTC or touching the Bitcoin network. It runs an order book for inscription requests, verified through smart contracts. Powered by open-source libraries Utu Relay and Raito, Broly simplifies Bitcoin development and unlocks new use cases by verifying transactions on Starknet: https://starknet.io/blog/broly-trust-minimized-bitcoin-inscriptions-directly-from-your-starknet-wallet/…

Last but not least, Starknet will be integrated into @XverseApp, a major Bitcoin wallet. Users can create Starknet accounts, manage L2 tokens, and swap BTC for STRK within the app. Future plans include expanding this integration across Starknet’s DeFi ecosystem:
